For the love of the game.
In 2008, the Anaheim Ducks began a movement to bring high school ice hockey to Southern California, starting with one high school, then adding another in 2009 . With the addition of 3 more schools in 2010, the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League had been formed, and the start something special had begun. In the current 2018-2019 season, the ADHSHL has impressively and almost impossibly grown to 51with schools competing from San Jose to San Diego. This league boasts its annual all-star game held at Honda Center, and its own championship – with quite a trophy.
With the Great Park ICE & Five Point Arena on the horizon we are excited about the opportunities for hockey in our community. We enter our eighth year as a district program accepting all players from schools in the Irvine district, and fifth year with both a Varsity and JV team. The feedback for our schools, parents and league is extremely positive and is very exciting for the future of Warriors High School Hockey. Our goal is to develop great people through hockey and build teams that reflect pride, sportsmanship and integrity. Our plan is to field the most competitive teams as possible. Some of the best hockey alumni in California have played in the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League. Several of those players have moved on to play college and junior hockey. With the league growing and becoming a powerhouse in California the opportunities for our players to play at the next level is the best it has been in history. “I was fortunate to have head coached the first team in the ADHSHL when the Ducks launched the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League on July 1, 2008 with JSerra Catholic High School (San Juan Capistrano) as its charter member. As the ADHSHL continues to grow I plan to bring my experiences to develop OUR WARRIORS into a long-lasting hockey club.” Rick Hutchinson WHC
